Hospital Sister of St. Francis Marie Clare Scheible died June 12, 2016. She was 91 years old.
Sister Scheible was born in Rochester and entered the congregation on Sept. 8, 1947. She professed her religious vows on June 13, 1950.
She earned a bachelor of science in nursing from St. John’s Hospital School of Nursing, St. Louis University, St. Louis, Mo; a master’s in business administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio; and graduated from the Chicago School of Massage Therapy.
Sister Scheible served as a registered nurse, a clinical nursing instructor, in hospital administration and in pastoral care at the Hospital Sisters Health System hospitals in Illinois and Wisconsin. She also was a massage therapist in Springfield, Ill.
She is survived by her sister, Bernice Reinhardt; a niece and nephews, including Father Leo Reinhardt; cousins; and her sisters in the congregation.
Her funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Clare Adoration Chapel at St. Francis Convent in Springfield, Ill., on June 14, 2016, with burial at Crucifixion Hill Cemetery in Sangamon County, Ill. A memorial Mass was held at St. Boniface Church in Rochester on July 14, 2016.
