Sister of Mercy Grace Miller will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Greater Rochester Community of Churches/Faith In Action Network for her work with marginalized and vulnerable citizen.
The award will be presented during the organization’s annual Faith In Action Celebration Dinner from 5:30 to 8 p.m. June 11 at the Burgundy Basin Inn, 1361 Marsh Road, Perinton.
Sister Miller runs the House of Mercy, a shelter for the homeless in Rochester, and she has spearheaded efforts to raise funds to bury the indigent in Rochester.
The event will include a silent auction, dinner and a program. Also recognized will be Dr. John Klofas, director at the Center for Public Safety Initiatives at Rochester Institute of Technology, who will receive the Metropolitan Award for Faith In Action.
Two high-school students will receive Alberta Moss Scholarships.
