Sister of Mercy Mary dePaul Dugan, longtime teacher, dies at 99

Longtime teacher Sister of Mercy Mary dePaul Dugan died at Mercy Center in Brighton Dec. 4, 2018. She was 99 years old.

She had entered the congregation Sept. 8, 1938, just months after graduating from Our Lady of Mercy High School, Brighton. She taught at St. Charles Borromeo, Greece; St. Louis, Pittsford; St. Thomas and St. Salome, Irondequoit; St. John the Evangelist and St. Andrew, Rochester; and Good Shepherd, Henrietta. In 1982 she joined the office and library staffs at St. Thomas School before moving on to Holy Cross School as a computer coordinator. She retired to prayer ministry in 1994.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews and her sisters in the congregation.

Her funeral liturgy was celebrated at the Mercy Center chapel on Dec. 11, 2018, with burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
