Sister of St. Joseph Joseph Anne Collins died Jan. 18, 2019. She was 89 years old.

Sister Collins entered the congregation in 1948 from her home parish of St. Joseph, Weedsport. She earned an El. T.T. in 1952 and a bachelor’s in education in 1957 from Nazareth College.

She taught at Immaculate Conception, Ithaca; St. Augustine and Most Precious Blood, Rochester; St. Mary, Auburn; St. Pius Tenth, Chili; St. Anne, Palmyra; St. Francis de Sales, Geneva; and St. Mary, Elmira.

In 1980, Sister Collins was assigned to the Sisters of St. Joseph Convent Infirmary, where she served as a receptionist. She was the assistant local coordinator from 1999-2003. She moved to the motherhouse in 2003 where she provided congregational service until her retirement in 2012.

Sister Collins is survived by her niece, friends and her sisters in the congregation.

Her funeral liturgy was celebrated at the motherhouse chapel on Jan. 24, 2019, with burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
