Sister of St. Joseph Teresa Auberger (formerly Sister Teresa Martin), died Feb. 27, 2013, at the age of 94.
Sister Auberger entered the congregation in 1936. She completed her B.E. in 1948 and earned a B.A. in English in 1954, both at Nazareth College of Rochester.
She taught at Our Lady of Victory, St. Augustine and Immaculate Conception, all in Rochester; St. Patrick, Dansville; and St. Anthony, Elmira. She was appointed principal at St. Anthony, then at Blessed Sacrament in Rochester.
In 1970, she became secretary to Mother Helene Garvin in the Religious Education Center. From 1976-90, she served as assistant to the congregational treasurer, then as staff to the treasurer general, and finally as payroll officer. In 1990, she served as assistant in Cornerstone Crafts and remained there until her retirement in 1999.
She is survived by her sister, Helen Auberger Brown; her nieces, Jeanne (Larry) Gray, Mary (Richard) Jasinski and Ann Chapman; her nephew, John T. Auberger; many grandnieces and grandnephews; and by her sisters in the congregation.
Her funeral liturgy was celebrated in the motherhouse chapel in Pittsford March 5, 2013, with burial in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
