Sister Melissa Gernon of Rochester entered the Sisters of St. Joseph’s novitiate program on Thursday, June 7.
Sister Gernon, a Rochester resident and a 1999 graduate of Nazareth College in Pittsford, will spend one to two years studying, reflecting and serving while she learns theology and the meaning of vowed commitment. Novices also live in community and participate in congregational events.
