Smith Barney gives Mercy center $3,000

Mercy Outreach Center in Rochester, a ministry of the Sisters of Mercy, has received a $3,000 donation from the Rochester branch office of Smith Barney through the Citigroup Foundation.

Mercy Outreach Center is a neighborhood health-care practice for the working poor located in the northeast quadrant of Rochester. It serves more than 200 children, women and men each week. The center operates by offering space, equipment and supplies, free of charge, to medical and dental professionals who, in turn, provide free services for the uninsured and underserved.

Sister of Mercy Kathleen Ann Kolb, director of Mercy Outreach Center, expressed gratitude for the donation.

“The funds will be used to continue Mercy Outreach Center’s mission to empower the physical, social, emotional and spiritual well-being of uninsured and underserved children, women and men,” she said.
