Bishop Salvatore R. Matano will visit Church of the Epiphany in Sodus June 5 to celebrate a 10:30 a.m. Mass commemorating the church’s centennial.
Several people will speak about the church at a catered luncheon after the Mass, and historical photos of the church will be on display.
Additional events celebrating Church of the Epiphany’s 100th anniversary will take place throughout the year. Among these events is a Sept. 18 Centennial Coffee Hour celebration, which will take place after the 10:30 a.m. Mass at the church, located at 105 W. Main St. in Sodus.
Church of the Epiphany was founded in 1922 and in 2009 joined with its mission church, St. Rose of Lima in Sodus Point, and St. Mary of the Lake in Ontario to form St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish. St. Rose of Lima has since closed.
Limited seating is available for both the June 5 Mass and the luncheon afterwards, which is free. To reserve a seat at the Mass or the luncheon, contact the St. Maximilian Kolbe parish office at 315-524-2611 by May 30.
