All are invited to the 22nd-annual Free Spaghetti Supper sponsored by Elmira’s Blessed Sacrament Parish (St. Patrick and Ss. Peter and Paul). It will take place Wednesday, May 27, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the parish center on Market Street, across from Ss. Peter and Paul Church and St. Joseph’s Hospital.
The supper is open to all community members, regardless of religious affiliation or income level. According to organizer Elaine Chamberlin, more than 600 meals are expected to be served by the volunteer crew that handles set up, cooking, serving and clean up. Blessed Sacrament offers the supper at no cost thanks to donations by parishioners and local businesses.
"God has been good to us, so we share of our bounty each year with our neighbors," Chamberlin remarked.
