Sister M. Catherine Trott of the School Sisters of Notre Dame died Dec. 30, 2004, at the Lourdes Health Center in Connecticut. She was 83.
A native of Rochester, Sister Catherine taught both elementary and high school grades. In Rochester, she taught at St. Boniface and Holy Family elementary schools and at Bishop Kearney High School. Prior to her retirement in 1997, she served as switchboard operator and receptionist at the congregation’s motherhouse, in addition to her involvement in community service.
Surviving Sister Catherine are her sister, Mrs. Leonard Dalton of St. Petersburg, Fla.; brother Richard Trott of Rochester; niece Kathleen White of Farmington, N.Y.; other nieces and nephews; and her sisters in the congregation.
Her funeral liturgy was celebrated Jan. 3, 2005, in the motherhouse chapel in Wilton, Conn. with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bethel, Conn.
