The week of January 30th – February 3rd was National Catholic Schools Week. A week for Catholic Schools to have a bit of fun as they celebrate what makes them special! The week began with a prayer service, “Waking Up with Jesus”. The students wore their pajamas and the older students spent time reading to their ‘Little Brothers and Sisters’.
Tuesday was a day of service. The students created decorations to be sent over to the Senior Nutrition Center of Avon for their Valentine’s Day Lunch.
On Wednesday, students in grades 2-5 attended the Bishop’s Mass at the Cathedral in Rochester with other area Catholic Schools.
On Thursday the students had a Roller-skating Party and on Friday the students chose between Skiing at Swain or bowling at Miller Lanes.
The celebration of Catholic Schools Week allows the students to recognize the joys of their faith-based education and to take a break from their academics to reward them for all their hard work in the first semester. Catholic Schools Week is also the kick-off of Registration for the 2017-2018 school year. St. Agnes School offers Preschool programs for 3 and 4-year-olds including an all-day 4-year-old program as well as Kindergarten – 6th-grade classes. St. Agnes School offers rigorous academics blended with extras such as Music, Art, Technology and Spanish in small classes to build a well-rounded, Christian education.
