St. Ambrose Academy participates in traveling Nativity activity

Rochester’s St. Ambrose Academy participated in a new Advent activity called the traveling Nativity.

The project was the idea of third-grade teacher Regina Fabbro.

From Nov. 29 to Dec. 22, pieces of one Nativity set were passed between each grade-level classroom. During the first two and a half weeks, each of the eight Nativity pieces rotated daily through each of the classrooms. During the final week, each class kept one piece in its room for the week for a deeper reflection. As the Nativity pieces traveled between classrooms, teachers led students in an Advent prayer and a reflection on that particular piece. The prayers and reflections also were sent home to families so that they could unite in prayer as a family and reflect on the importance of that individual in the context of the birth of Jesus.

On Dec. 22, the Nativity pieces were brought together during the school’s community gathering for everyone to see the Nativity scene together.
