St. Ann’s to acquire affiliate of ViaHealth

St. Ann’s Community will acquire Independent Living for Seniors from ViaHealth, officials announced recently.

Independent Living for Seniors is one of 34 nationally certified programs eligible for all-inclusive Medicare and Medicaid funding to provide at-home care for those who otherwise would be in nursing homes.

There will be no interruption of services for participants during the 12- to 18-month approval process. Until that time, Independent Living for Seniors will continue to operate as an affiliate of ViaHealth.

The program has medical clinics and day-care sites on Hudson Avenue near Titus Avenue in Irondequoit and at the Sisters of Mercy’s McAuley Center on Blossom Road in Brighton. It provides acute, outpatient, home care and long-term services for more than 300 seniors and employs 250 health-care workers.
