St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry in Pittsford will host a conference on Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen in celebration of his Sept. 24 beatification.
The Oct. 23-25 conference, “The Life, Thought and Holiness of Fulton J. Sheen: Proclaiming Christ and the Wisdom of the Cross,” will be presented both in-person and virtually.
The keynote speaker for the conference will be Msgr. Jason A. Gray, JCD, who is executive director of the Archbishop Sheen Foundation. Among topics to be discussed are Archbishop Sheen’s sanctity and lived witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ; his spirituality and spiritual writings; and his role in evangelization and catechesis.
In addition to the sessions on Archbishop Sheen, the conference will include opportunities for Mass as well as morning and evening prayer.
The conference will take place at St. Bernard’s, 120 French Road, Pittsford, and be presented virtually via Zoom.

Archbishop Sheen, who was bishop of Rochester from 1966-69, bequeathed his personal library and the rights to his famous television series, “Life is Worth Living,” to St. Bernard’s Seminary. St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry retains these archives as the seminary’s successor institution.
