Pamela Urban has been named interim chief executive officer of Hornell’s St. James Mercy Health System, effective Jan. 1. The appointment was recently announced by Sylvia Bryant, chairperson of St. James Mercy’s board of directors.
Urban replaces Clarence R. LaLiberty, who had been president/CEO of St. James Mercy since 2001. LaLiberty has taken a similar position with St. Francis Healthcare System in Wilmington, Del.
Urban has served as chief operating officer for St. James Mercy since 2002. Prior to that position, she was program administrator for surgery at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
