Graduates of St. Joseph School in Auburn are often very successful in high school and college, and the school wants to make sure people in the Auburn community are aware of that success.
Last year, the school began producing bulletin inserts to highlight selected graduates and their accomplishments. These “Spotlight On Our Graduates” inserts feature a recent photo of the graduate, list the graduate’s high-school or college activities and accomplishments, and include several quotes from the graduate about how St. Joseph shaped his or her life.
The school is producing the bulletin inserts because parents of prospective students often ask how St. Joseph alumni do after graduating from the school, said Kathleen Coye, principal.
“It kind of gives people a chance to see that they do well,” Coye said.
An early July bulletin insert highlighted Dan Pike, a 2000 St. Joseph graduate who finished ninth in his class at Auburn High School. Now a sophomore at Rochester Institute of Technology, Pike credits St. Joseph with giving him the confidence to step forward and become involved in his community, according to the flyer.
