St. Joseph’s Walk of Gratitude

On Friday, May 25, 2012, more than 400 including students Pre-K through grade 6, teachers and parents raised $10,000 to benefit St. Joseph School’s 2nd Annual Walk of Gratitude.  The goal of the mile-long walk is to raise money for the school while paying tribute to teachers, faculty and families for their continued dedication and support. The walk route circled the school, located at 39 Gebhardt Road in Penfield.

In preparation for the walk, students participated in a letter writing campaign to ask friends and family to sponsor them for this walk. Some teachers even incorporated this activity into their lesson plans. For example, 6th graders had an art contest and the winning design was put on the walk T-shirts. Sixth graders even learned about screen printing process from the T-shirt vendor.

Thank you again to our walk sponsors: Medtronic, Phoenix Graphics Inc., Tops Friendly Markets, NebDocs, Advantage Federal Credit Union, 5Linx, Rochester Rhinos, Rochester Red Wings, AMC Loews Webster, Clawson’s Deli and Grocery, Bill Gray’s, Martino’s Pizzeria and Wickham Farms.
Money raised went to the PACE Foundation (Parents for the Advancement of Catholic Education) to benefit St. Joseph’s School. Fundraisers like this provide St. Joseph’s School the resources necessary to make Catholic education affordable to even more children, and support the school’s ongoing daily operations including technology upgrades, classroom improvements and tuition assistance program just to name a few.
