St. Mary’s to hold memorial blood drive

St. Mary Parish in Canandaigua will host a blood drive for the American Red Cross on June 26 in Dougherty Hall, which is in the basement of the church, 95 N. Main St.

For the past three years, the parish has sponsored this blood drive, called “For the Love of Emmett” in memory of Father Emmett J. Halloran, who passed away in 2004. Father Halloran had lived and served at St. Mary’s since his 1996 retirement from St. Patrick Parish in Macedon.

Anyone interested in donating blood may make an appointment by calling the parish office at 585/394-1220 or choosing an available time from sign-up sheets that will be posted at the entrance to Dougherty Hall during the next few weeks.
