Stewardship Day in Diocese of Rochester set for Nov. 13

Renewing parish vitality in the face of the coronavirus pandemic will be the focus of Stewardship Day, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 13, at St. John of Rochester Church, 8 Wickford Way, Fairport.

This free event is being organized by the Diocese of Rochester’s Office of Stewardship and Communications. It is geared especially toward parish leaders, councils, stewardship committees, volunteers and staff, as they explore how to bring back people who have been away during the COVID-19 crisis and how parishes can reignite participation, giving and sharing. Registration and breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m., with opening prayer at 9:30 a.m. and the program running until noon. Those who attend also are invited to stay for the optional lunch and bonus workshops lasting until 1:30 p.m.

The scheduled keynote speaker is Leisa Anslinger, associate director of pastoral life for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, who also is a book author on stewardship. In addition, three workshops are being offered: “Changing Times Call for a Change in How We Communicate”; “How Consistent, Intentional Stewardship Equals Thriving Parishes”; and “Why Stewardship? It Makes All the Difference.”

Registration for Stewardship Day is requested by Thursday, Nov. 11, by using the link https://conta.cc/3uKn4a9 or contacting stewardship@dor.org.
