The day after its May 19 birthday and jubilee tribute to Father Francis R. Davis, All Saints Academy in Corning staged another big event at St. Mary’s Church. The school’s annual May Day observance, honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary, was attended by the student body as well as grandparents and alumni.
The event included rosary recitation and music featuring hand bells. A special May Day highlight was the presentation of a mosaic of the Blessed Mother that students had created in art class; the impressive creation stands more than 6 feet tall and 4 feet wide.
“Everyone looked at it and gasped,” Principal RoseAnn Ewanyk reported, adding that the mosaic will remain on permanent display at the school.
