Students at St. Rita School in Webster came together Jan. 23 to honor the West Webster Fire Department and Webster Police Department by making posters that will be given to police and fire personnel on the one-month anniversary of the Christmas Eve shooting that left two firefighters dead. The posters are adorned with paper police hats and fire helmets inscribed with prayers and good wishes as well as a large photo of students holding a banner that read “We’ll always remember.” The school also has designated Jan. 29 as “Celebrate American Heroes Day,” and each student, faculty member and staff member plans to do one act of kindness on that day.
