Area theater students will present a musical-theatre revue called “Fight with Love,” which will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Performers will include the Geva Summer Academy Class of 2005 and other area theater students in middle school, high school and college.
The event will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at the Iacovangelo Auditorium at Aquinas Institute, 1127 Dewey Ave., Rochester.
The students aim to use musical-theater selections and poetry to fight AIDS, discrimination, ignorance and hatred with love. Selections include scenes or songs from “A Chorus Line,” “Jekyll and Hyde,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” “Wicked,” “Aida,” “The Normal Heart” and “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.”
Tickets are $7 and will be available at the door. Desserts and refreshments will be available at intermission for a further donation of $3. There also will be a raffle of musical-theater-related items provided by the charity; all proceeds will go to the charity.
