Priests

Diocesan priests dedicate their life and ministry to serve the people within the specific geographic area of a diocese, and commit to a daily discipline of personal prayer, promise respect and obedience to the Bishop and lead a chaste, celibate life. They are most often assigned to serve within a parish by the Bishop, but may have another full-time ministry.

This collection includes news and feature coverage of diocesan priests within the Diocese of Rochester, as well as occasional coverage of priests’ ministry in other dioceses. Articles in which diocesan priests are quoted extensively may also appear here. Find more information about vocations and ordination in our Holy Orders collection. More information on religious priests can also be found in our Religious Orders collection. Articles can be found in many categories of the Courier‘s website.
