Faith Formation

Living an authentic Catholic life requires ongoing developing of one’s faith through learning and spiritual practices. Faith formation may be through formal catechesis, when preparing to enter the Catholic Church, to receive the sacraments, or for marriage. It may also take place more informally through small groups and fellowship.

The four pillars of the Catholic catechism are faith, liturgy/sacraments, life in Christ, and prayer. These are often explored in formal and more informal settings. Articles in this collection include news and features about various faith formation opportunities within the Diocese of Rochester, as well as spiritual strengthening exercises such as pilgrimages.
