The Rochester area receives about 1% of refugees to the United States yearly, helping over 15,000 since 1972. Multiple Diocese-affiliated entities perform many valuable services for resettlement, through Catholic Charities and other organizations. Catholic Charities Family and Community Services’ resettlement program is the resettlement agency in Rochester. Saint’s Place in Pittsford and Mary’s Place Outreach Center in Rochester also provide services. Though not a Catholic entity, UR’s Center for Refugee Health also provides services in the Rochester area.
