Father Kevin McKenna, pastor of Rochester’s Cathedral Community, will lead a talk with parishioners from three parish clusters on the corporal and spiritual works of mercy.
The talk will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at St. Paul of the Cross, 31 Monroe St., Honeoye Falls.
The corporal works of mercy are feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, clothing the naked, visiting the imprisoned, sheltering the homeless, visiting the sick and burying the dead. The spiritual works of mercy are counseling the doubtful, instructing the ignorant, admonishing sinners, comforting the afflicted, forgiving offenses, bearing wrongs patiently, and praying for the living and the dead.
The gathering is being promoted through the parishes of St. Agnes in Avon, St. Bridget/St. Joseph in East Bloomfield, St. Mary in Canandaigua, Good Shepherd and Guardian Angels in Henrietta, St. Paul of the Cross in Honeoye Falls, St. Rose in Lima, and St. Joseph in Rush. However, all are welcome to attend.
