Tioga County Rural Ministry had a busy holiday season, providing Thanksgiving and Christmas service to hundreds of people in its coverage area.
According to a recent TCRM newsletter, the ministry served 170 families — 192 children, 237 adults and 35 senior citizens — at Thanksgiving. For Christmas, TCRM served 140 families — 149 children, 180 adults and 37 seniors. In addition, 34 families were beneficiaries of a Christmas giving-tree program by local churches, organizations and individuals.
TCRM, an ecumenical outreach, provides food, supplies and other services in Tioga and surrounding counties. It is located at 60 North Ave., Owego, and its executive director is Sister of Mercy Phyllis McGuire. Donations of cash, food, supplies and volunteer time are always welcomed.
