As of press time Feb. 22, the Diocese of Rochester’s 2004-05 Thanks Giving Appeal had received 39,016 gifts and pledges totaling $4,306,885, according to Dave Kelly, TGA coordinator and associate director of diocesan stewardship and development.
Kelly noted that the campaign has raised more than 81 percent of its $5.3 million goal.
“The campaign is still active, and we are asking those who have not given to consider making a generous pledge to this year’s campaign,” Kelly said. “All monies received will be used for human service, education, and faith-formation ministries throughout our diocese.”
Each year the appeal, which began in 1981, serves as the primary source of fundraising for the diocese, providing nearly 50 percent of its annual budget. Appeal funds support such efforts as diocesan Catholic Charities, youth and campus ministries, pastoral-planning efforts and Parish Support Ministry programs.
