To the editor:
Thank goodness we have a bishop who is compassionate and who is not afraid to show it. Bishop Clark understands that the message of Jesus, to love one another, is embedded in the Vatican’s instruction covering the discernment of homosexuals to priesthood. His own love of God and of people allows him to look beyond a person’s sexual orientation and instead focus on the individual’s character and maturity. Bishop Clark upholds the dignity of all people through his promise to treat gay men fairly in their inquiries and by his display of caring and respect for homosexual priests in the diocese.
