Theology on Tap kicks off fall series Oct. 24

The discussion series Theology on Tap, during which young adults and local speakers gather at an area bar to discuss and reflect on faith, kicks off its four-week fall series later this month.

On Oct. 24, Jessica Shanahan will begin the series, leading the discussion "Voting Your Catholic Conscience: In This Crazy Election!" Shanahan is a member of the diocesan Public Policy Committee.

Father Peter Mottola, parochial vicar at St. Louis Church in Pittsford, will speak on "Ritual Sacrifice" Oct. 31, and National Catholic Register reporter Peter Jesserer Smith will discuss "Mercy, Martyrs & The Middle East" on Nov. 7.

Alice Miller Nation concludes the fall series Nov. 14 with a presentation on "Anger Management: Peace Through Forgiveness." Miller Nation is associate director of and chaplain for the Catholic Newman Community at Rochester Institute of Technology.

All four evenings begin at 7 p.m. and will be held at The Beale New Orleans Grille & Bar, 689 South Avenue, Rochester.

Theology on Tap is sponsored by the Diocese of Rochester’s Department of Evangelization and Catechesis. For details, call 585-328-3228, ext. 1218.
