A transportation program that Catholic Family Center is part of was recently recognized nationally by a committee of experts in aging and transportation.
The Beverly Foundation of Albuquerque, N.M., gave a $5,000 2011 STAR Special Merit Award to Medical Motor Service, a local nonprofit transportation provider, for its TRAC program, which helps centralize and coordinate transportation services for older and disabled adults and their caregivers.
The TRAC (Transportation Access) program is a collaborative effort among many nonprofit agencies, including Catholic Family Center, Monroe County Office for the Aging, Lifespan and Eldersource. The $5,000 award will be used to promote and provide continued services to older adults in the Rochester area, according to officials with Medical Motor Service, which was one of 19 providers out of 281 applicants nationwide to be honored by the Beverly Foundation.
