Turkey Trot 5K race benefits Penn Yan Catholic school

St. Michael School in Penn Yan will host its 11th-annual 5K Turkey Trot and Kids Fun Run on Nov. 24. Proceeds from this Thanksgiving Day race benefit the school.

The 5K will start in front of St. Michael School, located at 214 Keuka Street, and follow a 3.1-mile route through Penn Yan before finishing back at the school. The flat course is certified by USA Track and Field and will be professionally timed by Falcon Race Timing. The 5K will start at 8:30 a.m., and the Kids Fun Run for children 10 and younger will begin at 9:30 a.m.

Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers and the top three age-group finishers, as well as to all Kids Fun Run finishers. Food and beverages will be provided after the race.

The registration fee is $25 per person for the 5K and $5 per person for the Kids Fun Run. Runners and walkers may register online at https://runsignup.com/Race/NY/PennYan/StMichaelSchool6thAnnual5KTurkeyTrot. The first 100 people to register will each receive a free T-shirt. Registration ends Nov. 21.
