Turkey Trot 5K race to benefit St. Michael School in Penn Yan

St. Michael School in Penn Yan will host its 12th-Annual 5K Turkey Trot and Kids Fun Run Nov. 23. The school first hosted this Thanksgiving Day fundraiser in 2012, and it has since become one of St. Michael’s most successful annual fundraisers.

The 5K race will start at 8:30 a.m. in front of St. Michael School, located at 214 Keuka St. The flat course will wind through Penn Yan for 3.1 miles and finish in front of the school building. It will be professionally timed by Falcon Race Timing, and the course is certified by USA Track and Field.

The race will take place rain or shine. Awards will be presented to the top male and female runners and to the top finishers in each age group.

The Kids Fun Run will begin at approximately 9:30 a.m., and each participant in the fun run will receive an award.

The registration fee is $25 per person for the 5K race and $5 per person for the Kids Fun Run. The first 300 people to register for the 5K will each receive a free T-shirt, and food and beverages will be provided after the race. The event also will include raffles.
