Used-book sales will aid Honduran boys

Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Community is collecting used books in good condition, which will be sold at two used-book sales later this summer.

Proceeds from the sales will be used to purchase materials for a library being built at the Casa del Nino orphanage in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Used books may be dropped off at St. Michael Church, 312 Liberty St. in Penn Yan; St. Andrew Church, Union Street in Dundee; St. Januarius Church, 180 N. Main St. in Naples; St. Patrick Church, 47 N. Main St. in Prattsburgh; St. Mary Church, Gilbert Street in Rushville; or St. Mary Church, Main Street in Stanley.

Volunteers and sponsors from Our Lady of the Lakes have been working since 1999 to improve the quality of life for the boys in the orphanage.

For more information, contact St. Michael’s parish office at 315/536-7459.
