Prom dresses are being collected by the Nazareth Academy Service Group for Fairy Godmothers of Greater Rochester from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at Nazareth Academy, 1001 Lake Ave., Rochester, at the entrance on Eldorado Place. The nonprofit organization helps underprivileged high-school students attend their proms or balls while teaching them self-esteem. Gently used prom dresses, evening gowns and bridesmaid dresses that are no older than two years are needed. Evening bags, gloves and jewelry also are needed. Velvet dresses cannot be accepted. Tax receipts will be available.
