Volunteers needed at emergency shelter

Dimitri House, an agency that provides services to the city’s poor and homeless, needs volunteers to help staff its emergency shelter for overnight guests seven nights a week through April.

The agency, located at 102 N. Union St. in Rochester, also provides groceries and health-advocacy services to needy Rochester residents.

It needs volunteers for its emergency food cupboard from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday to Friday.

It also is looking for volunteers for its drop-in program from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and also is looking for volunteers to answer the phones from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.

For details, call Fran at Dimitri House at 585/325-1796.
