Volunteers needed at local nursing home

Mercy Health and Rehabilitation Center in Auburn is looking for volunteers.

Teens who enjoy working with the elderly are invited to volunteer at the center in the evenings and on weekends. Volunteering at the center will not only provide a valuable experience for teens, but it can also give them an opportunity to complete required community-service hours for school.

The center is also looking for adult volunteers to visit and spend time with the residents and to help with activities.

For more information or to arrange an interview and placement, contact Marge Brooks, director of volunteers, at 315/253-0351, ext. 270.

Mercy Health and Rehabilitation Center is a 297-bed facility — sponsored by the Sisters of the Third Franciscan Order — that provides both long- and short-term care and rehabilitation.
