Volunteers are needed to help prepare and serve a Thanksgiving dinner sponsored by Elmira Community Kitchen. The dinner will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25.
The kitchen is located 160 High St., in the Ss. Peter and Paul community center. Volunteers should register by Nov. 17 by calling 607-734-9784, ext. 2135.
Elmira Community Kitchen has served Thanksgiving dinner annually since 1981. It also serves meals daily Monday through Friday and the last Saturday of the month year-round, as well as on Christmas and Easter. The kitchen will celebrate 30 years of service in 2011.
Cash donations are welcomed to help keep the kitchen operating during 2011. Checks can be made payable to Elmira Community Kitchen and mailed to the kitchen at 215 E. Church St., Elmira, NY 14901.
