Volunteers urged to attend workshop

Christ the King Church will host its annual North Region Catechetical Workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23.

There will be seven sessions offered, including Creating a Safe Environment (CASE), which is a required session for all volunteers. The workshop is for all adults, including those who serve as teachers or aides in a weekly religious-education program, Catholic-school teachers, Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults team members, dismissal volunteers and catechists, and any adult who wishes to learn more about the Catholic faith.

Walk-ins are welcome, but preregistration is preferred. Details also are available by calling 585-338-1146.

Workshops will include cultural diversity in ministry with Father Michael Upson, the Gospel of John with John Dealy, prayer styles with Pat Lawlor, New Testament overview with Mary Beth Fuehrer, Old Testament overview with Giuseppina Alabastro, classroom manager with Mary Ellen and Dick Cancilla, and CASE with Donna Moll.
