Writer considers himself ‘scolded, but not corrected’

To the editor:

I am responding to Mr. Faiola’s response (Catholic Courier, April 1: “Marcher replies to letter writer”) to my letter to the editor (Courier, Feb. 4: “Writer urges prayer for all”).

I consider myself scolded but not corrected on the focus of the annual March For Life. Thanks to Bishop O’Malley for advocating for all forms of life in his homily. That is a start. But I would also ask (Mr. Faiola) if he saw any signs supporting forms other than in utero during the March. Signs like “Welcome the Immigrant” or “Catholics Against the Death Penalty” or “Mother Earth Needs You” were nowhere to be found. Did any of the speakers of the day mention any of these other causes?

I agree that the unborn are in need of our voices but so too so many other causes. I and many more “Friends of All Life” will gladly rejoin the March when its focus broadens and becomes Consistently Pro Life.
