Catholic men between the ages of 17 and 40 who are considering a possible calling to the priesthood are invited to attend a May 30 dinner with Father Joe O’Connor, vocations director for the Diocese of Syracuse.
During the 4th-Annual Bishop’s Dinner, Father O’Connor will talk about the plan God had for his life. Father O’Connor was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Syracuse in 2005. An avid athlete, he completed his first Iron Man Triathlon in 2011 in just under 13 hours. Even more than sports, Father O’Connor enjoys serving God’s people as a diocesan priest, and he’s looking forward to sharing his experiences with the young adults at the Bishop’s Dinner.
The dinner will be held at St. Patrick Parish Center, located at 115 Maple Ave. in Victor. It will begin with hors d’oeuvres and beverages at 6 p.m., followed by a steak dinner. Meatless options also will be available. The dinner will be sponsored by the Diocese of Rochester’s Office of Vocations Awareness and the Finger Lakes chapter of the Knights of Columbus.
To reserve a spot at the dinner, contact Carol Dady in the Diocese of Rochester’s Office of Vocations Awareness by May 23. Dady may be reached by phone at 585-461-2890, by email at cdady@dor.org or by mail at 1150 Buffalo Road, Rochester, NY 14624. Include your name, parish or faith community, and whether or not you will be bringing a guest.
