Presentation on helping Haiti’s vulnerable children
October 8, 2022 @ 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm EDT
St. Louis Church in Pittsford has a 30-year tradition of raising funds to help Fr. Rick Frechette C.P., D.O., and his work at St. Damien Pediatric Hospital in Haiti. During the weekend of Oct. 8-9, members of the parish and the public are invited to hear from Dr. Jacqueline Gautier, who served for nearly 30 years as the medical director of the hospital. When Dr. Gautier started working with Fr. Frechette, she helped him transition the organization from a hospice center for dying children to a pediatric hospital.
Dr. Gautier, who is now the adviser and coordinator of development for the hospital, will speak about the hospital and the challenges that Haiti faces at two different sessions: at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, (following Mass at 4:30 p.m.) and at 9 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 9 (following 8 a.m. Mass). Her talks will take place in the St. Louis Parish Meeting Hall. Guatier will also show a video about the hospital and Haiti. Also attending will be Jennifer Rayno and Bailey Bundy from NHP. There will be a silent auction of artwork created by a 10-year-old Haitian boy. Snacks and juice will be provided.
These events are free, and there is no registration required. For more information about the Haiti Ministry, please visit https://stlouischurch.org/haiti or call Cari Marin at (585) 622-2375.
