Mission
The Rochester Catholic Press Association is the conduit for timely, compelling, and trustworthy information about the Catholic faith, the Church, the Diocese and parishes, and their charitable activities. It uses digital, print, and social media to inspire lifelong faith formation and transform personal and community life as inspired and directed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ (revised March 15, 2023).
The Rochester Catholic Press Association, Inc., a 501(c)3 New York not-for-profit corporation, publishes the Catholic Courier, El Mensajero Católico, the Official Directory of the Diocese of Rochester and related digital media.
The corporation employs a staff of 9 full-time and 2 part-time writers, editors, photographers, designers and business professionals, operating under the direction of its publisher, Bishop of Rochester John S. Bonnici, who also is president of the RCPA.
The other corporate officers are: Very Rev. Paul J. Tomasso, V.G., vice president; Rev. Daniel Condon, secretary; and Ms. Jane Sutter-Brandt, treasurer.
The corporation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Members serve on one of three standing committees that conduct board initiatives.
RCPA Directors for the 2025-2026 board year are listed in the table below according to their committee assignments. Committees also include some staff of the newspapers and/or the diocesan Pastoral Center. These individuals are denoted in the table by asterisks after their names.
