Bishop Salvatore R. Matano ordained five deacons during an ordination Mass Aug. 15 at Rochester's Sacred Heart Cathedral. Johan Engström, Vincenzo Franco and Roger Loucks were ordained as permanent deacons, while Steven Lewis and Joseph Maurici were ordained as transitional deacons on the path to priesthood.
