A flag that was nearly destroyed when the World Trade Center towers collapsed on Sept. 11, 2001, has since traveled all over the United States and is being restored using retired American flags from all 50 states. On Aug. 20, the 20-by-30-foot flag was carried onto Rochester's Frontier Field by local firefighters, police officers and EMS personnel as part of Red Wings Military Appreciation Night. When the flag is complete it will become part of the permanent collection of the National 9/11 Memorial Museum at Ground Zero.
