Parishioners, women religious and clergy from all over the Diocese of Rochester gathered at Rochester's Sacred Heart Cathedral April 19 for the Chrism Mass, the annual ceremony during which sacred oils to be used for sacraments throughout the year are blessed and consecrated by Bishop Matthew H. Clark. While those in attendance sang, prayed and celebrated on the cathedral's main floor, a group of Cathedral Community volunteers worked diligently in the basement to fill hundreds of vessels -- ranging from large, unadorned plastic jugs to small, engraved metal canisters --  with the Oil of the Sick, the Oil of Catechumens and the Sacred Chrism.
